Chemistry you can see, touch, and understand
Chemsimu brings high school and AP Chemistry concepts to life through interactive simulations. Instead of memorizing reactions from a textbook, students explore them hands-on — adjusting variables, observing outcomes, and building real intuition for how matter behaves.
Why we built this
Chemistry is one of the most visual sciences — electrons shift, molecules collide, equilibria tip — yet most students encounter it as a wall of equations and abstract diagrams. We believed there had to be a better way.
Chemsimu started as a classroom experiment: what if students could run a titration, adjust pH, or watch a reaction reach equilibrium on their own screen? The results were immediate. Concepts that took weeks to click landed in a single lab session.
Today Chemsimu covers core HS Chemistry and AP Chemistry topics, with every simulation designed around the questions students actually ask.
How simulations work
Pick a topic
Browse the simulation gallery and choose a concept you're studying — from atomic structure to electrochemistry.
Explore interactively
Adjust sliders, change concentrations, swap reactants, and watch the simulation respond in real time.
Build understanding
Observe patterns, form hypotheses, and test them — the same scientific process used in real labs.
Built for students
Whether you're reviewing for an exam, working through a concept that didn't click in class, or just curious about how something works, Chemsimu is designed to meet you where you are. No special equipment, no setup — just open a simulation and start exploring.
- Start with HS Chem simulations if you're new to a topic
- Use AP Chem simulations for deeper dives and exam prep
- Try changing one variable at a time to isolate cause and effect
- Revisit a simulation after class — it reinforces what you learned
